The lines of convergence beyond a certain lattitude
Bring a compass's accuracy to a humble platitude.

East and west become a blur,
But there is one thing that's for sure.

Whether standing on the top of the world, or upside down on the bottom.
The first step taken will be one step closer to autumn.

After that it's all relative
Forget the compass, use a grid.

much to easy so I see, so try this...it stumped me: A man and a woman were driving in their car when it broke down. The man decided to go for help at a gas station a few miles back. He made sure nobody was in the car, rolled all the windows up, and locked all of the sedan's doors. He went off, but when he came back, his wife was dead, and there was a stranger in the car. No physical damage was done to the car, so how did the stranger get in?

Man in one car
Woman in another
Both broke down but not the same car brother
His wife stayed in his sedan, doors locked and windows up
She suffocated, no air.. her bad luck
The stranger was still sitting in her car.. Alive and breathing.
But a stranger so far.

I'm so glad this thread is not dead.
It is constantly ringing in my head.
I'm not that good at solving the riddles.
But reading them seems to give me the giggles.

Thank you Dan for starting the show
Now come on people its starting to slow.

She died in childbirth?

Confused and confounded is what I am
My brain can't wrap around this can
of worms that you have opened on up
Someone answer the thing for I have given up!

Though it lack a bit of rhyme
Yes, she died in childbirth
the child a stranger at this time

Me thinks this riddle, morbid it be
So come on all, post one with glee!
Riddles there arent, many i know
So Im forced to wait for another to go

Not a riddle, just a little test.
Follow the instructions and do your best:

A quick test of intelligence. Don't cheat! Because if you do, the test will be no fun.

There are no Tricks to the test. Read this sentence:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF-
IC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS.

Now count aloud the F's in that sentence. Important, count them ONLY ONCE: do not go back and count them again

Ha ha the answer to easy!
But my brain was being peasy.
I read through once just as instructed,
But re-reading my points all deducted.
Attention to detail is what it takes,
Three lashings for me I made 50% mistakes!

Like Dan, three was my conclusion.
Dan is a good man and that's no illusion.

Apparently, counting three means you're average smart.
If we're average together, that warms my heart.

I have read that the "F" in "OF" (by average folks) registers as a "V"
Judging by the responses, that seems to be.

To three men who I do quite respect,
I am with you guys there is no regret!

Ischavio, LabRatBrewer and the WildGinger steward
Someday fellows we shall share beers unobscured.

For, 4 rhyming, timing and flexible brains,
This riddle temporarily blew out some of our flame.

But don't worry men all is not lost
In the rhyme riddle thread you guys are the boss!

So here is another one you may toss about
To tell you the truth it goes great with a stout! :D

You heard me before,
Yet you hear me again,
Then I die,
Till you call me again.

Honestly, that last part is rarely needed and, if anything, just serves to further alert people to the possible tricks.

Just telling people to count the F's and then giving them the sentence to read gets pretty much the same results with far more elegance; unless they've seen an iteration of this test before, the vast majority will not count six.

If I'm not right, I hope you get cancer
I'm wildly guessing that echo's the answer.

My dear Emjay your answer is correct
My late response, I did not mean to neglect.

I do have a question about your response #380
You didn't rhyme that time and unusual for you
Crap! Now I'm not rhyming either, maybe it's the salt peter?

Either way my dear Emjay
I am glad you play this foray!
Of rhymes and riddle,
And things good on a griddle :D

My good man Emjay
Lets continue to play!

This one is yours.. time for a teaser, come on brother, don't be an old keaser! :mug:

So let your mind throw out; a riddle to bonker our collective brains out!

I will devise the next riddle fun,
hopefully, by the morrow's sun.
But it shan't be anytime soon
Certainly, not before noon
'Twas far less fickle
to answer a riddle,
than 'tis to invent one.

Brothers and Sisters I have none
but that man's father is my father's son.

Making this less abstract using names from my clan,
what I've come up with is: your son is that man.

Emjay is right and answers fast
For tonight here's my last:
Poke your fingers in my eyes and I will open wide my jaws. Linen cloth, quills, or paper, my greedy lust devours them all.

Frustrated, I had given up on the riddle and was going to bed
Was halfway up the stairs, when a lightbulb appeared over my head
I rushed back downstairs to answer it fast
And for tonight at least, "scissors" will be my last!

To you riddle rhyme geniuses
We all know who you are.
Imagitive brains, who light up the stars.
Time to put your head on a pillow,
and let your mind mellow!
Tomorrow or the next will be time for more fun,
Brothers and sisters, time to go to sleep;
even if way after the sun.

Oh my gosh, this thread i do love
So much in fact i've released a dove
I must do some searching or even think
I must post soon, before the next blink
So as i go off to ponder the rhyme
Please dont forget me, i'll be back in due time

On my way to St Ives, i saw a man with 7 wives
Each wife had 7 sacks and in each sack was 7 cats
Each cat had 7 kittens. Kittens, cats, sacks and wives
How many were going to St Ives?

I've racked my brain and now I''m done
The answer is two thousand four hundred one.

Your math it appears to be quite right
The answer it seems needs to be more tight
Read once again and maybe you'll find
The answer thats on the edge of my mind

This one is not meant for the kids
Dan, make the girls shut their lids
Maybe not a riddle but more of a joke
I heard this today from a funny bloke

How many animals can you fit into a pair of pantyhose?
