Anvil Scale problem

I have one of these small Anvil scales

Today it started reading all 8s across the screen. I replaced the batteries but it didnt help. About 10 minutes after turning it off, it turned itself back on again...but just read all 8s again. Anyone ever have this issue, and is there a fix. Or do I need to buy a new scale?

If that scale has gone to Digital Heaven I can recommend this one for the same price as that Anvil-branded model. I've had it for three years so far with no issues...

Planned obsolescence..... It was meant to die so that you have to buy another one......

The fact it turned itself back on may suggest moisture got into it somehow. Most likely shot either way, but you might investigate a little to prevent another one from meeting the electronic reaper.

Good point! Maybe dry it out?
Also check the battery compartment for oxidation, etc.

I bought one of these 100g/0.01g Skyroku's It's amazingly accurate and been reliable since I got it last year. Comes with a 100g calibration weight and tweezers.

Its a few years old. Had just used it not 5 minutes before this happened. I will check for moisture.
