I'm going to be doing my first starter.

I planned to do step ups; the plan is:

Day 1: Smack the pack
Day 2: Add the yeast to 100ml hopped wort
Day 3: Add 100ml more wort
Day 4: Add 200ml more wort
Day 5: Add 400ml more wort
Day 6: Add 200ml more wort (for a total of 1000ml)
Day 7: Pitch

Is this a good approach?
Should I create all my wort at one time, refrigerate the remaining amount, taking out what I need each day (warming and adding)? Or should I make fresh each day?

what are you brewing? ale or lager? high gravity or 'moderate'?

you may be stepping up more than necessary...

I do a smack pack into a 2000ml starter, I add one capsule of Servo to the wort as I am making it, and I put the 2000ml flask onto a stir plate. They are done and ready to pitch in 24 hours or less, and have worked fantastic for me every time so far, with full on fermentation within 3 hours or less of pitching the starter.

for that OG, just a one step 500ml starter should be fine. no need to hop the wort either
