Amazon heating element splash guard

Hey everyone,

New to electric brewing, I've searched around on here to try and find an answer with no luck. Maybe I just don't know the right keywords to look for yet.

But I've been eyeing this heating element on Amazon to assist my kettle with stove top boils My question is this, is the splash guard/enclosure that comes with it good enough? Or do I need to build a Kal style enclosure? I don't plan on boil overs, but I'd like some protection just in case. And this will be plugged in to a GFCI for what it's worth, though I know I shouldn't count on that.

Because I'm in Canada, Amazon changes the link on me to their .ca site, but if the listing is the same, I noticed in the reviews that the included cable grip is too large for the cords most people use, and one reviewer didn't even recieve the cover. Personally I've always found Amazon to be hit-and-miss with specialty items like this. I see from your post that you're in Denver.... personally I'd recommend buying @Bobby_M 's tried and tested gear:

Thanks for the input, that might be the way to go. I see they have an enclosure the sell separately that looks pretty good.
