Hi all I'm new here. Glad to be here! I am doing my first mead. I started it on 11/17/2013, being new to it my book didnt tell me I was supposed to put water in the air lock  so now almost 2 months in I have not had water in the airlocks. is it toast? :(

Taste it. If it tastes ok then just get some vodka in that airlock. If nothing is growing on it then you should be fine. Chances are it protected itself with a layer of CO2. Mead is pretty resilient due to the resilience of the honey.

ok thank you, I tasted it. Its too young to be "good" lol but it tastes like honey alcohol. No sour :D I filled the airlocks half full of Vodka. Thank goodness!
