Woke up this morning only to find the airlock blown off the primary. Yeast spewing out the top. I quickly sanitized a blowoff tube and set it up. My question is how unsanitary is it with yeast hitting the outside air like that? Will the beer be ok?

Happens to me almost every time I don't think I need a blowoff...made a black IPA that blew off and made a real mess. Saved it. Favorite beer I have had on tap thus far. Good luck.

Don't worry about it. It happens to everyone.

Clean the airlock put it back on place. The CO2 is heavier than air so O2 didn't get to the wort. The beer will be fine.

It's fine. There's a whole bunch of co2 being produced, atm.

What is the temperature of the beer and what is the yeast strain?
