So my first AG has failed. My boil volume was so high I did not get a good rolling boil due to spill over. I use electric heaters without control currently so I did not boil continually only intermittently. It smells of corn (DMS) due to not full boiling.

I want to redo this batch and simply use a lesser amount of water, then add after some has boiled in order to get back to my volume needed. Is there any problem adding late boil water to reach you final volume needed. This is only a boil question and I do not need to get into sparging and efficiency.

It would affect hop utilization (boiling more concentrated wort), but you could calculate & compensate for that.
