about to make a peppercorn rye bock today and instructions say to add 1 tsp green peppercorn and one tsp black peppercorn (milled) at flameout. It's brew day and needing some timely advice on whether to just throw the peppercorn into the wort (instructions don't call for grain bag), hoping they will eventually sink and not requiring filtering out later... or do i play it safe and crack them into a grain bag and transfer the grain bag into the primary?

any advice would be appreciated!

I did a saison with some peppercorns in the last part of the boil. I would put them in a hop sack so you can remove them after cooling. I think leaving them in for the whole fermentation may make the flavor too strong.

My thoughts as well. I don't leave bags of spices in the fermenter either. I take them out before chilling,or before straining into the fermenter.
