Sometimes, they go well and sometimes they don't. The last couple of brew sessions have gone bad. I didn't hit my temps, my mash stuck, leaky bucket,........... But one consistent theme is that the beer still turned out fine. I worry too much.
Yesterday I took the day off. I was floating around the bay in my kayak when I thought "Hey, it's still early, I could run to the brewstore and be back in time to whip up something."
And boy did it go well. I hit my mash temp on the nose. I didn't forget to heat up my sparge water. My numbers came out perfectly. Hell, I even managed to cook up an awesome Thai dinner in the middle of brewing.
Sometimes, it just goes well.
