I used the reecipe(and bought the ingredients) from northern brewer for their belgian dubbel all grain. Well, all but the candy sugar, which i made with sugar in the raw, lemon juice, and to add a little somthin' else...some honey. That was some yummy hard candy! I brewed it through their described muiti step mash . I ended up doing 2, 5 gal batches a week apart; both being mashed the same, one as described on nb's site, and one with first wort hops(bittering) and candi sugar(1lb)
Big taste diffs. First wort batch had more sweetness, but sooooo much more depth. It really allowed more flavors to come out. Both i'd say ended as dry as the next(as did this thread)
