Hey all, I have a small wine cellar that I never ever use. I had a thought, maybe take the guys and build into a foam fermentation chamber. I'm not sure how efficiently it would cool the larger space though.

I'm looking to build something just big enough for a 6 gal carboy, and cool it all to 50 degrees. Think this might work?

I know I could just get a mini fridge off craigslist, but I already have the stuff around to build this.

I believe most small wine coolers like your 8 bottle unit use peltier cooling. They aren't very efficient for larger cooling jobs, but you wouldn't be the first to try this. It's worth doing a search on here for "Peltier fermentation chamber" or smilar to see other's results.

best of luck!
