I brewed a AHB Miami Wiess wheat about three and a half weeks ago. Still in primary and was going to be bottled this weekend. Joyous.

Went down to the storage unit to get some bottles to prepare and I noticed there were more fruit flys than before. Then to my horror I see the primary about 1/3 full and the rest on the cement floor.

As it turns out the plastic spigot broke at the threads and I am about to cry.

Needless to say when she got dumped, it looked great, smelled great but god knows what got in to it.....time to start over.

What a horrible horrible day.

Hard to relax with one when it is on the floor.

For those that are in need of a new one:

Funny enough I am off to get a primary bucket with no spigot.

I guess that is why they do call it a bottling bucket.

God it smelled good, but I just couldn't take the chance.

I have written to AHB begging for the state sale early (Washington) isn't up yet.

I need to get another batch going pronto! :mug:

Primary with a spigot? Thats a bottling bucket, not a primary. Now you know why.

My 2 Coopers have spigots, Better Bottles can have spigots also.

OP,

Sucks what happened but technically you still have 17 beers left ;) 1/3 of 52

I lost a pint or two when I used a bottling bucket as a primary and the faucet leaked...

will not make that mistake twice...

sorry for your loss
