I did a little upgrade to my rig this weekend, thought I'd share. For my kettle and HLT I have a float switch in them to prevent dry firing. Originally I had the float switches connected through a modified 1/4" head phone jack that plugged in to the front of the control panel. I really did not like this method and the connection was a little problematic. This weekend I re-routed the float switch in to the heater elements junction box, and wired it and the temp probe in to a 4 pin XLR connecter, and replaced the 3pin receptacle I was using for the temp probes originally with the 4pin version.

Everytime a headphone jack is replaced with an xlr an angel gets its wings :mug:

Also, +1 for the colour coding on the xlr socket and front panel (intentional or not!)
