Would the item be used in the kitchen?

Not sure what you mean by that (technically any brewing item can be used in the kitchen depending on where you do things), and I don't want to be misleading, so I'll skip this question and let you rephrase it if you want.

Is it used during chilling of the wort?

Everything else look right?

Equipment
Metal
Used on brew day (minority use a different day)
Comes in contact with liquid during normal use
Used for activities besides brewing
Used after flame out

Does not hold/transfer liquid
Not specific to AG brewing
Not used during boil
Not used for measurement
Not metal spoon
Not used for hops
Not thermometer
Does not contain multiple components
Needs to be used with other attached items
Not fastener
Does not require electricity

Is it also used for cooking?

No.

Is it something most brewers would own?
I can't say for certain, so I'll say that most intermediate and advanced brewers probably own it. Anybody who really cares about their beer, IMO.

Doubt it
