If its not old or new world what the hell can it be? Asian style?

It's not an Asian style. I suppose if you trace the roots all the way back, it'd have an old world origin, but that's like comparing death metal to blues.

Is it above 15 srm?

Not typically (if there is one, I've never seen it)
 
It's popularly recognized an American style, however old world breweries have been brewing it just as long, and the original mentions of it are NOT American.
 
Depends on what you're going for. Some commercial examples will certainly exceed the alcohol tolerance of some yeast strains (that's a big hint).
