I have a question for you 10G brewers. I'd like to hear from as many of you as possible regarding brew kettle size. Who uses 60Qt vs 80Qt for your brew kettle.
Thanks,
HD
I've brewed with both. 10 gallon batches are a snap with both, but now I have a 20 gallon Blichmann, I brew 15 gallon batches. I sparge 18 gallons of wort, and then add a few drops of Five Star Defoamer and I have never had a boilover. This stuff is great. http://www.austinhomebrew.com/product_info.php?products_id=10388
I can get a rolling boil going and walk away to do something else, answer the phone, whatever and not have a boilover.
My 60 qt. kettle was a keggle. Either way, you will be fine.
