I'm re-starting my kombucha brewing at home and making a few Scobies. In doing so, I couldn't find unflavored kombucha anywhere (which is something new since the last time I did this - it used to be very easy to find). The best I could find with GT's Classic Kombucha Original flavor, which says it's 45-day fermented and has an ABV of 0.5%. I'm in first fermentation right now, and it doesn't look great and I'm seeing what might be mold. I'll give it some more time, but wondering: does anyone know where to find unflavored raw kombucha (I'm in L.A.), and does anyone know if this kind of Kombucha, with an alchol content, is bad for Scoby making?
