Life is good. We enjoy a range of activities while drinking homebrew. This is inherently safe in most cases because most homebrewing activities can be easily and safely accomplished while drinking a few homebrews. The same is not true about some very specific homebrewing activities, and activities we undertake outside of homebrewing.

Here I attempt to illustrate the difference.

I know everyone will want to contribute their experiences here, so sound off below, and to get you started:

Things Safe and Unsafe to Do While Drinking Homebrew
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Soaking bottles in hot water and removing them with a scrubbie - safe
Removing labels from used bottles using a razor - unsafe

Bottling homebrew - safe
Handling kettles or hoses filled with near boiling liquid - unsafe

Staring at active fermentations in carboys. For hours. - safe
Carrying glass carboys around, filled or empty - unsafe

Making a quick entry in HBT to describe your latest brewing disaster - safe
Writing a quick email using Reply-All to coworkers and managers - unsafe

Chatting with fellow homebrewers on the phone - safe
Taking a conference call with clients or coworkers - unsafe

...

I had a manager that was a total dick. Very egotistical, didn't trust his managers, argued everything, etc. I found I made the most progress with him after about 6 beers, picking up my phone and letting loose via txt. We'll put that in the "do" category.
