Anybody used this lager yeast before? I'm getting a really strong sulfur/egg smell off the primary. Everything I've read says don't worry, this happens with lager yeasts and the sulfur will get consumed in secondary. But man, it's disconcerting.

My first brew was a Vienna Lager, but I used a kit and didn't record the yeast. It produced some sulfur smell, but not nearly like this batch. Then again, this is a high-grav Baltic Porter, so there's a lot more malt being consumed.

What temp are you running for primary? I have read conflicting posts on S23 and off flavors.
I ran the primary around 62 and secondary around 50. It's a tad higher than the recommended temps. There was some sulfur off-taste at bottling time, but it cleaned up with a decently long bottle-conditioning.
