Has anyone cut the top of a keg off including the handles not just cutting the center inside the rim? I'm thinking of doing this for easier and larger access for a BIAB basket. I'm wondering if the top would still have enough stiffness?

A friend of mine did this and the stainless is definitely thick enough without the top to support it.

i did this with my kegs

check the link in my signature for cutting the round out. The rest I just cut off with more cuttings disks for the angle grinder and then a flap disk to grind down the rough edges.

We have cut the entire top off (added handles), cut all but the handles off, and cut just the center ring.
