After the boil, what do you do with all those excess hops? It looks like mud. I decided to just toss it out and didn't put it in the fermenter. I assume I was right, right? Any ideas?

Wrong forum. Perhaps a mod can move?

Anyway, you'll probably want to just toss them. I think they'd be great in a compost pile too. There isn't anything brewing-related that they can be used for.

Don't let your pets eat them. Compost them. If they get into the fermenter, they won't hurt anything. But if you want to wash and harvest yeast, you should try and exclude them.

I have been pouring the trub? on my ferns near the front door and they have never ever looked so good. smells good too. :) Mike
