I have been putting my stir plate and new huge flask to heavy use. I have already used the yeast to brew a 10 gallon batch and know it is fresh and quick to start. I have done a search and found out the right way to do it is a microscope and a hemacytometer, but don't have the time or want to spend the funds on those just now. Is there a way to estimate my yeast count using volume or weight?

If you know the volume of yeast (measure them) and the viability date then using MrMalty you can estimate the number of viable cells you have.
