Fond du Lac man accused of allowing sons, 2 and 4, to drink beer
The Fond du Lac County District Attorneys Office requested the citation be issued on Sept. 21 after the officer forwarded the report in July.
A woman working at a beer tent told an officer that a man approached her and said, I need two beers. One for me and one for my 4-year-old son. She thought he was joking, so she gave him the drinks, according to the Fond du Lac Police Department report.
Underage children are allowed to drink with their parents in Wisconsin.
However, an officer told the man the kids were too young to understand what they were drinking or to decline the beer. The man did admit to buying the beer for his 4-year-old and letting his other boy, age 2, drink some of it, the report states.
The man began yelling and swearing at officers before he was escorted off the County Fairgrounds, according to the report.
