I Converted an extract recipe with the help of my LHBS into a Big Mini Mash. Here's the recipe, minius the Hops as they are not prevalent to the question...

3.3 lbs Munich Malt

2.2 lbs Light Malt Extract Syrup

1.1 lbs. Wheat DME

8 oz Caramel Wheat Malt

8 ozBiscuit Malt

4 oz 10L Crystal malt

2 oz Chocolate Wheat Malt

2 oz Dehusked Carafa III Malt

I replaced the 2.2 Lbs of Light Liguid Malt Extract with 4 lbs of British 2 Row. Everything else remains the same. My question is this. The recipe calls for a 1.5 Gallon Boil. I really don't want to batch sparge only 1.5 gallons of Wort from 5 1/2 lbs of Grain. I would think that a lot of fermentable would be left in the Tun. Think I could Bump my Boil up to 3 Gallons without affecting the malty Flavor qualities of the Beer?

Fo sho, you're doing a PM now! Your boil volume almost has to increase. I'd dough in with 1.25-1.5 gal, and batch sparge with the remainder of your pot space.

Not sure of your hops, brewpot size, if you're batch sparging or whatever, but thought this would be fine for you. Let me know if I can help any more!
