Brewing with barrels

I keep seeing this ad on Craigslist and am wondering if this barrel could be used for brewing/winemaking? The owner isn't sure:

Some of the brewers around here age big beers in used (mainly red) wine barrels, but 225L is out of my league. Black Panther stout gets two months in Pinot Noir barrels.
