So my 32qt aluminum pot just got here in the mail today and I filled it to the brim to see if the old electric stove could kick it up to a full boil, and after 45~60 minutes it managed to do the trick. However I've now got this brown coating up to the water line on the inside of the pot. Is this just an oxide coating or something? Will it affect the beer? Thanks all.

It sounds like you basically just cured it. I think the curing process for aluminum pots is to boil with water for 30-40 minutes and you end up with a coating like you describe. I think the coating protects the pot from what I understand.
