Anyone know any good ingredient kits? I prefer a dark, sweet ale. Any ideas? PS for a beginner.

when I brewed kits, I always like the Brewer's Best brand.

As for what KIND of beer... since you like dark and sweet, you might like a basic brown ale or sweet stout.

just throw some bread yeast in this and drink it a month later...SWEET!

seriously though, do some research, go to abunch of websites (morebeer, midwestsupply, grapeandgrananry, northernbrewer, williamsbrewing), they all have kits...

I got my first kit from Northern Brewer. The instruction sheet was reassuring the first time. However, my second brew I'm going with ingredients I purchased myself (Midwest Homebrew Supply) because I wanted to do an all wheat Hefeweizen and didn't see a wheat only kit. I also like to shop from Midwest and Northern Brewer because they are more local to me [Minnesota-->Iowa], which cuts down on yeast transit time.
