Help with keg question

Hey all, I have a new kegerator that can fit 2 sixth kegs or corny kegs. My only experience with the corny is to force carbonation and pour from the spigot that's with it. Though I haven't delved too deeply into the directions of set up to this kegerator, it looks as though the gas is connected perpetually inside the fridge. Do you folks think that I'd follow the same thing with the corny keg when hooking it up? Do I still force carbonate it prior to or do I just connect the gas line turn it on and walk away for a while?

I'm certain this must have been addressed in previous forms but I'm relatively new. I do thank you all in advance.
