Had this tonight....it's bottle conditioned and it was stored at room temp at the liquor store for who knows how long, so it foamed over pretty good (lucky I opened it in my garage). I was pretty impressed by this beer. It was quite fruity (grape came to mind) and buttery (guessing diacetyl here?). I don't know that I've ever had an ordinary bitter before, but this was quite good. Too be honest I think the line between ESB and "ordinary bitter" is blurred even from the country's orgination. This was just as hoppy (read: balanced, but not in-your-face like American craft beers) as most of the good ESBs I've tried. I was surprised when I read the bottle label and it said that it's only made from pale malt.
Good beer, and I'm going to start simplifying my recipes from now on
