Your BIGGEST Obstacle to going pro is?

  • Money, like everything else in life

  • Too many rules, regulations, taxes, paperwork and licenses

  • Can't get (necessary) buy-in from another party

  • Not skilled enough yet, but will go pro one day

  • I can't keep my garage clean, let alone a brewery

  • I have NO desire to go pro, but love to share my homebrews

No real desire to go pro. Im an IT guy, I like what I do and I like my comfy desk chair and cold work lab.

Starting a brewery is a helluva lot of work, for little return in the beginning, not to mention all the rules.

Bottom line. Im lazy.

I'm a laid-off IT guy myself. Seeking employment. Not much available where I am in IT. So I'm looking at other possibilities.

One word: Fear. Fear of failure. Fear of going broke.
I've been an entrepreneur, (not beer) had some success, but in the end, forces beyond my control did me in.
I think the beer business is a terrific opportunity for those in the right place with the right drive, know-how and financing.

That was interesting. It seems that just over half of the participants apparently would like to be a pro brewer.
