Entering my first competition today. Turning in 2 bottles of my Cascadia black IPA. Just wanting to get the experience and see what happens.

I just entered my first competition also. Turned in a Hefe, a pumpkin beer and a IPA last week. Judging is Oct 23... I hope I get some good feedback on my Hefe. It's a beer I (and others) really enjoy.

Good luck to you

Thanks ClassicXJ. Our judging is that weekend also. Good luck with your entries.

BTW how did your pumpkin ale turn out? I'm bottling mine this weekend, along with brewing a holiday ale.

Pumpkin turned out good. I used 2 cans in the mash plus some spices in the boil. Next year I might try real pumpkin.

Good luck. I love competitions. I really like getting feedback...and winning some bling is fun too.

WOW, I just got the scoresheets from the competition I entered. Although no awards, I did get scores of 44 and 43 out of 50! Very excited!! Comments such as "Excellent beer," "Killer beer," and "very, very good" are definitely make my day. :ban:
