I was wondering what would yield more juice, a press or a juicer. Maybe some combination? Has anyone played with the options?

My Breville juicer is pretty sweet, gets about 75% efficiency by weight which rivals most presses. Can do a 5 gallon batch in 2-3 hrs with set up and clean up.

For yield I'd say it's in this order (1 being best)
1. juicer
2. hydraulic press
3. screw press

For speed/efficiency
1. screw press
2. hydraulic press
3. juicer

So depends on how much you plan to do, and how much time you have. With a medium (non commercial) press, you can do 5 gallons in about 30 minutes.

I was just given and I was thinking about buying a press and putting them side by side and seeing which one was more efficient but the cheapest use press around me is about 100, I want to avoid that for a while.
