Just a quick FYI, I ran across a '4-way air line' splitter at Big Lots today. It was a milled piece of aluminum with 4 quick-release (female) couplings up the side and a brass plug at the end. It was just waiting to be taken apart, have ball/check valves installed for beer. I think it was selling for $6, but it might have been $4. McMaster seems to sell the same part for $15, without the quick-releases. I think all the connections were 1/4 NPT.
I realize that not every Big Lots sells everything, but it might be worth a look if you're nearby. I think the tool line was called Pro Shop or Shop Pro or something like that.
Thought all the cheap DIYers out there like me would like to know.
