How useful would a tilt kettle be in homebrewing? I know they are quite expensive but are there any pros and cons in using one. In extract brewing I'd think they'd be ideal as the temperature controls would be easy to dial in, I'd think. Does anyone here have any experience using one for homebrewing? Or, anyone have any experiences they would care to share in using one?
Thanks.

Not for homebrewing but considered one for pro brewing. If I was getting one, I'd get one that doesn't actually tilt but rather has a valve at the bottom. They are very efficient with heat transfer and would make a great HLT/BK. I'm sure you could even come up with a way to use one for a MLT.

Since you're in SC, I'll share the link to one I found on (Raleigh) Craigslist. Sadly, its too small for my needs, but it is a good deal:

Brewpastor uses a couple as you can see here.
