We have endured a heat wave the last 2 weeks with very bright sunshine. 10 days ago I suffered a transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke) and just today I made it out to inspect my hops to find many of the cones looking like this. Can I assume that cones looking like these are too far gone to use? Should cut these cones off of the vines?

Pick them ASAP. Some browning of the bracts is ok. If they smell good when crushed between your hands and have yellow resin, use them...

Bummer about the TIA. Hope you are back on your feet now.
