We made an Irish Red style beer a few months back and let the beer sit in primary for a couple months. We used WLP051 and fermented at 70-72 degrees. The beer itself tastes great but has a slightly Belgian taste, my friend described it best by saying it smelled like Hoegaarden when you bring it to your mouth. It is actually quite good and refreshing but not at all what we were expecting. Could this be from fermenting in the low 70's or possibly from letting it sit on the cake for a bit long?
