Using Ball or Mason canning jars for high capacity bottling?

I would be concerned about the pressure build up - I believe the narrow bottle necks help to contain carbonation pressure.

No...they're designed to hold a vacuum, not internal pressure. The beer won't carb in a canning jar.Brewzilla said:

Get a bunch of champagne bottles. Most of the time you can cap them with a standard capper. This is the perfect time of year to as a local hotel about saving them. Or just plan some dumpster diving on the 1st!
