Should I run flaked oats through the barley crusher with the rest of the grain bill or just put it as is in the mash?

I just put any flaked ingredients, maize, oats, wheat, etc, right in the mash tun and mix it up with the other grains by hand.

It doesn't hurt if they are all mixed in. My old LHBS, and Brewmasters Warehouse bags flaked grains separately so you can just dump them right in.

I run everything through the mill, it breaks it up a little more and helps to mix it in. In the case of flaked grains it is by no means necessary, but why not.
