I mail ordered the WLP037 Yorkshire Square yeast and got it the other day. It was shipped with an ice pack but looks odd to me. There are two distinct colors to the yeast, one being what I think of as a normal, light cream color. The other is a couple shades darker. I'm wondering if those are the yeast soldiers that perished on the journey. I will certainly make a starter when I use this yeast, but what do you think, is this two-toned color normal?

It doesn't look that unusual to me, and I have used the same yeast. I say make a starter, pitch, and I bet it wakes up.
