Agave Wheat

Hello,
I am considering adding some Agave nectar to my next batch of hefeweizen. Is this a bad idea? I have read mixed reviews on the web. How would i enter this into my recipe on Beersmith? I dont see it listed as an add-on ingredient. Should I enter it as honey?

I am looking for a backdrop of complexity on this beer, not overwhelming it. I am thinking of adding .5lb of dark raw blue agave to a 5 gallon batch. Ideas?

I have added blue agave nectar to a hoppy brown ale and an dipa. Both were 10 gallon batches and used 2lbs of agave in each brew. Not sure how to help you with beersmith. It should ferment out and dry the beer out leaving little to no additional taste from the nectar. I have wanted to try it in a wheat beer for a while now. Sounds good to me! Cheers!
