The plan here is to brew a 10 gallon batch of lager. We have the Budvar lager yeast, BUT we only have one pack, which is apperently only for 5 gallons. Would it be ok to put this in a 10 gallon batch anyway?

agreed. you *should* always make a starter even w/ 5 gallon batches.

just whip up a starter today and you can pitch sunday.

Activator packs are pitchable in a 5gal batch but it is under pitching. By making a starter you ensure plenty of yeast for the ferment. A 2 liter(quart) starter would be a decent pitch for 10gal, 1 gal would be better. An activator pack could be pitched in either one of these starters. Wyeast recommends making starters 24-36 hours before pitching, so making a starter tonight for Friday night or a Saturday morn brew session would be appropriate.
