Is there any way to make pale malt(base malt) out of pillsner malt?
I know it is possible, just dont know what temp. to roast on,and do i need water etc.
I am asking this because in Croatia Pillsner malt is readily available and cheap while pale malt is not

Thanx

Try a test batch of a few pounds at between 140 - 160 F for 30 minutes. Then go to 45 minutes and then try 1 hour.

Let each batch cool and chew a few grains and use what tastes best.

Try not to heat the grain over 160 to keep the enzymes intact.
