So I decided to get a jocky box for Home brew fests I searched around and saw they run from 200 all the way up to 500 or more.

So I checked craigs list and found a used 2 tap box with a big plate chiller for 110.00.

Now i know wehat you are saying:

1. its a plate
and
2. Thats looks nasty

Well Ok but on my budget a plate will be fine and as for nasty its just parts from here

I went out and purchaced a new cooler and new beer lines and this weekend im rebuilding.

Any customizing suggestions wwill be appreciated

I would soak the internal lines with Beer Line Cleaner, hot, for a day just to make sure you get the yuck out. Soak all the other parts, dissasemble, inspect,, etc. You should be good.
Customizing? Maybe separate the faucets as much as possible to make serving 2 at once easier.

All finished and buttend up :mug:

I need to get some diffrent tap handels but these will do for now.

I had a regulator laying about so I also set up a spliter. I purchaed the parts at Home Dept (way cheeper than at the home brew store)

There are quite a few parts involved.

One bit of customization i did use was i had two rubber coated wire in baskets off a desk, I stacked them back to back zip tied them togeather and placed them in the bottom to hold the cold plate out of the water. It gives just enough clearance so all I have to do is keep the drain plug open

This is both baskets.

Having all the parts does make it look nice

I have one last modification that im still working on. I have a set of bull horns that have been passsed down from my grandfather I am going to mount them on the sides in tribute this his beer loving ways.

So total cost

110.oo for old jocky box
11.00 for new lines
1.50 for new gaskets
32.00 for new ball lock fittings
26.00 for air line fittings
36.00 for new cooler

total 216.50

here is one All brand new

http://www.beveragefactory.com/draftbeer/jockey/HDCP-D2-48.shtml

for 327.75

So I saved 100 bucks and learned how to make a jocky box not to shabby.
