I brewed Pliny the Elder Clone last Thursday and it is still fermenting vigorously. The carboy is still churning away. Anyway, after five days, the blow-off tube is still bubbling at 1-2 second intervals. The reason it is doing so well is because I use a yeast starter that I ramped up 2 times over a 48 hr period. My OG on this batch was 1.079, so I am hoping for around 8.5% ABV. Is this normal for a Pliny clone?

The actual PTE is 8%, so you're a little above but not a huge deal. I brewed the AHS kit a few months ago and I think mine came out at 8.3%. Is that what you're using?

Mine fermented like a monster too. Starters FTW.
