I have this supply of leaf hops that I intend to start doing a series of smash brews with. I have used a bit now and then for various additions but I have never tried to account for any absorption losses.

What average figures do you use?

I figure I can squeeze out less than half a cup per ounce. But I am also one of those brewers that will scoop all of the hops out of the kettle put them in a strainer and squeeze all of the goodness out of the hops.

Dude, that sounds sexxy... wow. Yum.

Fresh hops are about 80% water, so an ounce of dried hops will absorb four times their weight.
