I just got a new set of mill rollers... the knurls are apparently pretty well coated with carbon dust. What's the safest way to wash this off before I use the mill?

My Barley Crusher came with a note to run 1/2 lb of grain through it and discard before using it for the first time to get any residue off of the rollers.

That's what I heard too. Make sure no oil is on them, then run a little grain through the mill. The dust will "clean" the rollers.
