When ordering extract kits from AHB, is it worth the extra money to order the liquid yeast, or will the dry yeast do just as good of a job? I dont want to have to add $5 to every order if I dont have to.

IMO it depends on the style of beer. Some beers you want to yeast profile...clean ferment in those cases dry should be fine. Some style have to have specif stains to give them their characteristic taste, look, etc.

Being a little more specific, highly hoppy or dark brews don't really need a liquid yeast. Hefes, Belgians & Kolsh do. If the recommended liquid yeast speaks of being clean or neutral fermenting, a dry yeast will work just as well & you won't need to make a starter or worry about the yeast getting fried.
