I had a nut brown ale a ways back and remember really liking it. However I cannot recall the name of it. I have quite a few odds and ends and wonder if I have enough to make a decent nut brown ale. If anyone would be interested in putting a recipe together I would be a very happy man :mug:

Anyway here is a list of what I have ( I would do this myself but beer calculus doesn't have a nut brown designation)

8 lb-2 row
6 oz-chocolate malt
2 lb- special b
1 lb- crystal 40
10 oz -victory malt
1 lb- dextrine
4.25 oz- 6 row
12 oz- roasted barley
2 oz-black patent malt
8 oz- dark munich
1lb 8oz-brown malt
1lb 8 oz- vienna malt
HOPS
10 OZ CASCADE
10 OZ CENTENNIEL
.25 OZ NUGGET
2 OZ GOLDINGS
10 OZ FUGGLES

I cant go to the brew shop for a while so it has to be made with what I have here.... OH YEAH I have flaked oats also( quaker!!)

I'd do all your brown malt (what else are you going to use that for anyway?) all your 2-row, all your victory, 8oz of C-40, 3oz choc

bitter with fuggles (1.25 oz maybe) and add a half ounce goldings at 5min.

It's a modified version of Jamil's Nutcastle using what you have.

any more ideas? I am thinking I may brew tomorrow.... I will either follow the above suggestion or throw it all out the window and do another real light batch to keep the swillers outta my porter, oatmeal stout and barleywine lol.

8 lb - 2 row
1 lb - crystal 40
Centennial - bitter to 40-50 ibus including late additions
1oz. Cascade - 10 minutes
1oz. Cascade - 1 minutes
1oz. Cascade - Dry

This should give you a slightly lighter SNPA clone at about 1.050

I plugged it into Beer alchemy for you, cause you're a fellow Buckeye! It is completely within style guidelines.

sounds good.. gotta scale back a bit on volume as My outside burner is outta commission at this moment.I have a 30 and a 34 qt pot for the stove but 7 gallons even in the 34 will REALLY be pushing it. I have some washed s-04 but if I make a starter that will take a pound or so of my 2 row!! AGGGHHHH I have nottingham or s-05 however?....hmmmm maybe another split batch? did it before and worked fine.
