I know somenone here has tried this. I was thinking about taking a gallon of the first runnings of a wheat beer and reducing it by half and adding water to reach my pre boil volume, similiar to a wee heavy technique. I'm just not sure if the wheat flavors would work out right. I am doing an american wheat then a secondary on some cherry puree for SWMBO and was thinking this technique may lend some more pie crusty flavors to join with cherry. Thats for her. Then I get to do a Pliny recipe!! YES

Some biscuit malt would probably do the trick. Another option would be to slightly brown some flour and add it to the mash. Reducing wort will give more of a caramel flavor, which could work well with cherry.
