I was going to post a similar topic asking who was going. :cross:

My girlfriend and I along with a handful of other couples are all going. Should be a blast!

We should try to see which if the Michiganders from the board are going and meet up while we are there. I think that MI has a fair number of posters on the board

Looks like I picked the wrong time to move to Massachusetts from Battle Creek, MI. Just 45 minutes from Lansing.

Although, the_bird and I are planning on doing a 10gal AG batch of an Irish Red next week.

I used to live just south of Lansing and don't remember anything like this before. It sucks that I won't be home to enjoy this.

I am amused by the "Old Town Lansing" comment in the ad, as opposed to just "downtown" Lansing.

So who went?! I just got back home from Lansing (live in Traverse City) so it was a pretty easy 2-1/2 hour drive. I can say that without a doubt, I will now be going again to this next year as well as visiting the summer show as well; what a blast!

There were so many good beers, several not so good beers and a whole lot of beer loving people; twas truly an awesome afternoon. I was quite suprised to see a handful of breweries that were there as well that didn't make the original cut sheet. The food was good and decently priced, the beer was great and the band and atmosphere were lovely.

Here are the beers that I sampled that I can remember:

Atwater Block Brewery - Voodoovator Doppelbock, Vanilla Java Porter.
Arcadia Brewing Co. - Big Dick’s Olde Ale, waitress asked if I wanted a double big dick; winked at me, raised eyebrows and giggled.
Kuhnhenn Brewing Co. - Metry’s Winter Lager.
Lily’s Seafood - Wicked Winter Warmer.
Bastone Brewery - Belgian Triple.
Detroit Beer Co. - The Detroit Dwarf.
Dragonmead Microbrewery - Final Absolution.
Founders Brewing Co. - Kentuckey Breakfast.
New Holland Brewing Co. - Dragon's Milk.
Forgot the brewery's name (doh!) - Solar Eclipse (19%!)

Favorites in order were Dragonmead's Final Absolution, Wicked Winter Warmer, Metry's Winter Lager.

Were a couple others that sadly I don't remember the name that were also amazingly great. Tried a few sips of my girlfriend's pulls and some friends that were there as well. The Solar Eclipse was absolutley horrendous and I couldn't finish it; in fact, I almost threw up in my mouth on the second drink of it so I gave it away. I have no idea even what to compare it with even.

Wow I missed it Bummer, Oh well summer will be here soon!
